The Linked Method - Speech Therapy

We believe that therapy should be linked to real life.

We take individualized goals a step further.

Welcome to The Linked Method, Where Everything We Do is Personalized to Our Clients

We believe that therapy goals shouldn’t be decided by the SLP alone. At The Linked Method, we collaborate with families and clients to ensure the evaluation data truly demonstrates the client’s skills and to create meaningful goals that are relevant not only to speech needs but also to their everyday lives.

Our innovative approach focuses on utilizing everyday experiences to enhance communication skills. By incorporating therapy into structured activities at home and during meaningful outings, we ensure that our clients can practice and generalize skills in the environments where they live and thrive. We believe that communication is a vital part of everyone’s life and that the role of the family can be a highly positive indicator of the child’s success.

Meet Your Therapist

Welcome! I’m Hannah.

Just your friendly neighborhood speech pathologist with a dream of treating the whole child to prepare them for the real world, their world.

Hannah has been providing speech therapy for elementary-aged children (3 yrs - 11 yrs) since 2017 in multiple therapy settings. She founded The Linked Method after becoming frustrated with the limitations placed on SLP’s within different environments. The lack of flexibility in treatment goals and restrictions on therapy meant that she was unable to customize therapy plans in the best interest of the child.

“I believe that treating kiddos should include therapy for real life. After all, children spend 95% of their day outside of therapy. Why shouldn’t speech therapy utilize the child’s life as an extra source for communication skills.”

How it All Works

  • First things first, let’s get in touch. Once we know a little about you and your family, we can tell you a little about us. You should call us for any of the following reasons:

    • You have concerns about your child’s speech and language skills.

    • Your child has been referred to speech therapy by your pediatrician.

    • Your child has received a diagnosis that affects their communication skills.

    • You just have questions/concerns. (We are here to help!)

  • We will chat about your concerns and the let you know if we feel a screener may be more appropriate or if an evaluation is necessary.

  • Evaluations can last between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the age, attention span, and abilities of the child. We use both formal and informal measures to get a comprehensive assessment of your child’s speech and language skills. We will look at a variety of skills during the evaluation including:

    • voice

    • fluency

    • expressive language

    • receptive language

    • pragmatic /social skills

    • conversational skills

    • play skills

  • We will provide you with a full report and set up a time to discuss the information with you. From there you and your therapist will work together to create a treatment plan that is customized to your child’s needs and life. This includes the location of treatment, goals, and frequency of sessions.

  • Begin therapy following the treatment plan.

Billing

We are a private pay practice. We do not accept insurance but can provide you with a superbill for services so that you can request reimbursement from your insurance.

  • Insurance places limitations on how goals are written and treatment protocols. We want to provide therapy that is best for our clients. By being a private pay practice we have more flexibility and freedom within scheduling, treatment approaches and goal writing.
